Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has claimed that Income Tax sleuths may swoop down on the office and residences of the JD(S) and Congress leaders on Thursday.
“An IT officer by name Balakrishna is making preparation for the raids. Three hundred officers and personnel from Central Reserve Police Force will conduct the raids. A BJP leader close to me told me about this over the phone,” Kumaraswamy said. He was speaking to reporters in Mandya.
The chief minister said that 300 cabs had been readied for transporting personnel from the airport. “The assistance of state police should be sought during I-T raids. But, it has been planned to rope in CRPF personnel. I am well-acquainted with the tactics of I-T officers during election time,” he said. He accused the I-T officers of conducting themselves as agents of the Union government.
