<p>In a press release here, he said the health department had served notices to all the nursing homes and clinics to ensure that there was problem in serving the citizens. On April 16, a team of officers of Karnataka Private Medical Institutions Registration Authority paid a surprise visit to two nursing homes. Such surprise visits would continue in the district. <br /><br />The officers of health department have been asked to take necessary steps. The intention of the surprise checks was to see that the rules were not violated. <br /><br />As per rules, 1761 applications were distributed and as many as 1,508 applications have been filled up and submitted along with full details and prescribed fees. <br /><br />The team had already inspected more than 400 nursing homes and clinics and visit to others was in progress.<br /><br />Gupta said final warning has been issued to those who were running clinics and nursing homes without the degree in medicine to close down. Failing which criminal cases would be registered against such persons.<br /><br />The team, that had paid the surprise visit was led by DHO Dr B S Nagarajarao, IMA, Mysore Branch president, Dr Harish, Ayush Deputy Director Dr Nagesh, Nodal Officer Dr S Somashekar and District Surgeon, Dr Vamadev.<br /></p>
