Cong MLA Deshpande calls freebies dangerous

Dandeli: Calling the freebie a dangerous word, senior Congress MLA and State Administrative Reforms Commission chairman R V Deshpande said on Friday that nothing should be given to people for free and that a fee should be fixed for every service.

"Women are enjoying free bus rides under Shakti scheme. There was a demand for extension of the scheme to men. How can we run the RTCs if we provide everything for free," Deshpande said addressing a gathering after inaugurating the RTO office at Ambewadi in the taluk.
