<p>Belagavi: Food and Civil Supplies Minister K H Muniyappa said that Congress will support the action taken by the Centre in retaliation of the terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam. "There should not be politics over the issue. During the all party meeting Congress has extended support to the government regarding the action to be taken," he said.</p><p>Muniyappa told reporters here on Monday: "BJP has resorted to politics over the terrorist attack issue in which 27 tourists were killed, but it should not happen. The terrorist attack issue should not be used for political gains. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given clarification regarding the interpretation of his statement and I shall not comment on it."</p><p>He said, "we have proposed to the centre to make 3 kg jowar and 2 kg rice available to the PDS cardholders from North Karnataka. We are making foodgrains available to the people under the provisions of Food Safety Act implemented during the tenure of Congress led UPA government at the Centre and also providing employment under MGNREGS," he said.</p><p>"We have decided to procure 1 lakh ton Jowar under MSP. Under Anna Bhagya scheme we are distributing 5 kg rice, and there has been a demand for Jowar in North Karnataka region," he added. </p><p>"Congress led opposition will question the BJP-led NDA government regarding the increase in prices of fuel while there has been fall in prices of crude oil in the international market. UPA government had been passing on the benefit to the people, but the NDA government has been continuing to increase the prices. Subsidy has also been withdrawn. An increase in prices of fuel were not in the interests of farmers and commoners," Muniyappa stated.</p>
