Counselling for in-charge principals cancelled

The Collegiate Education Department has cancelled the counselling for appointing senior-most lectures as in-charge principals at government colleges, following protests. The counselling was scheduled for October 9.

The Government College Lectures’ Association and Government College SC/ST Lecturers’ Associations had submitted separate memoranda seeking cancellation of the counselling on the grounds that such appointments, instead of appointments of regular principals would affect quality of education.
