<p>Dakshina Kannada has come on top followed by Udupi in the 2018 II PU exams, Pre University Education Department Director Shikha C said while declaring the results a short while ago.</p>.<p>This year, 59.56% of the candidates have passed the exam, which is nearly 7% higher when compared with the previous year.</p>.<p>The pass percentage was 52.38% in 2017, 57.2% in 2016 and 60.53% in 2015. As many as 54,692 students have passed with distinction.</p>.<p>Of the 6.8 lakh students who appeared for the exam, 5.3 lakh were first-timers. </p>.<p>Once again, girls have outclassed boys with a pass percentage of 67.18, while for boys it is 52.30%. In 2017, the difference was 14%. </p>.<p>The pass percentage for both urban and rural areas is 59.45%.
