Udupi police have arrested five more men, including a student, in connection with the double murder that took place in Kota on January 26.
The arrested men were identified as Abhishek alias Abhi Pala (23) from Puttur, Santhosh Kunder (35) from Barkur, Nagaraj alias Rotti Nagaraj (44) from Brahmavar, Pranav Rao (20) from Bhadravati and Shankar Mogaveera (41) from Anjaru.
Abhishek is suspected to be directly involved in the murder, while others are suspected to have played significant roles in the helping the accused men go into hiding.
With this, the number of arrested men has increased to 13, Udupi Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi said.
