A herd of three elephants damaged crops at Moolarahalli in Banakal hobli on Monday.

Paddy fields belonging to Harish have been damaged by the elephants. The elephants have been damaging crops at Kogile, Bhinnadi, Kodebailu, Chegu and surrounding villages for the last eight days. All the standing paddy crops have been damaged by the elephants.

Three elephants are moving in the region and are engaged in damaging paddy and coffee plants during the night.

"Paddy fields are situated 1-km away from the village. The farmers have been engaged in safeguarding their paddy fields by staying in the field during night hours," said a farmer.
