Fake currency haul in B'lore

The sleuths from Central Crime Branch and Income Tax Department on Saturday raided a house in Vinayak Nagar, KR Puram and seized fake currency of Rs 4.36 crore face value by arresting six men.

The police seized 436 bundles of Rs 100 note and a bundle of Rs 500 note. The fake currency notes were printed on one side only.  The arrested have been identified as as Sunil, 27 of Hegganahalli, Srinivas, 28 of Hoskote, Chandramouli, 38 and Murali, 28, both from Devasandra, Shekar, 22 of Cox Town, Chalapathi, 28 of Nagawara. 

A senior official said that the currency notes were fake and printed only on the front side. He said that the notes were printed using colour xerox and a computer. He said that the gang was involved in “money doubling ring.” The KR Puram police have registered a case.
