False death report costs woman dear

A false death report by a village accountant about a blind woman, has cost the woman very dear.

Gangarathnamma of Manivala village, was entitled for disabled pension, but she was deprived of it, thanks to the report, which said she was dead.

The report was submitted by the village accountant to tahsildar.

This was brought to the notice of Assistant Commissioner Satish by Gangarathnamma herself on Friday, when she did not receive the pension, for a couple of months. She urged the officer not to deprive her of the facility, which is her right.

Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha members, who heard Gangarathnamma’s plight demanded the officer to take action against the village accountant.
