<p>Madikeri: A farmer died after being attacked by a wild elephant at Dabbadka near Chembu village, Madikeri taluk of Kodagu district, on Wednesday night.</p>.<p>Shivappa (72), a native of Koppa, is the deceased.</p>.<p>The incident took place near his house. Virajpet MLA and Chief Minister’s Legal advisor A S Ponnanna consoled the people.</p>.<p>Chembu Gram Panchayat President Teertharama said that the wild elephants had been roaming around in Chembu, Urubaili, Dabbadka, Kanthabailu, Kudurepaya and surrounding regions.</p>.<p><strong>Panic</strong></p>.<p>Fearing for their lives, people are not coming out of their houses. The wild elephant which attacked and killed the farmer should be captured, he added.</p>
