<p>The security at Harangi reservoir has been beefed up by deploying additional forces. The personnel have been issued modern fire arms instead of the outdated .303 rifles, Superintendent of Police Manjunath K Annigeri told Deccan Herald.<br /><br />Tourists will be allowed to enter the scenic Raja Seat in Madikeri (Kodagu) only after a through frisking. Additional security check-up will be in force on December 30, 31 and January 1 at Abbey Falls and other centres of tourist attraction in Kodagu. All vehicles entering the district will be screened at checkposts on these three days. As many as 15 checkposts have been set up in the district in view of the panchayat polls. The additional police force of more than 300 personnel deputed for elections has come in handy for the district police to tighten security.<br /><br />A tight vigil is being maintained at Hampi and Tungabhadra dams. There has been an influx of foreign tourists to Hampi in view of terror threat at coastal areas. <br /><br />Additional check posts have been opened at vantage point to prevent any untoward incident.
