Govt okays adaptive traffic signals at 110 junctions in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Cabinet on Thursday has decided to implement adaptive traffic signals at 110 junctions in Bengaluru at an estimated cost of Rs 56.45 crore. The signalling system will enable traffic management will on automative mode.

The Cabinet also gave administrative approval to undertake the five-year operation and maintenance of the treated water pumping station located within the premises of the water treatment plant near GRP Main and Rajakaluve, including the tertiary treatment unit of 40 MLD capacity in the IT Park industrial area near Devanahalli, at an estimated cost of Rs 45 crore. It was decided that the funds for comprehensive operation and maintenance will be borne under the deposit contribution of the Industrial Areas Development Board. 

Similarly, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board has received approval for a project to implement five-year comprehensive operation and maintenance of a 15-lakh liter sewage treatment plant at Elemallappachetti and a 5-lakh liter pumping station at Sadaramangala.

Additionally, administrative approval has been granted to undertake five-year comprehensive operation and maintenance of the 90-lakh liter Bellandur sewage treatment plant at an estimated cost of Rs 23.36 crore.

Administrative approval has been granted to purchase robotic medical equipment for the Institute of Gastroenterology Sciences and Organ Transplant, Bengaluru, at a cost of Rs 20 crore.  Administrative and tender approval has been granted for a PPP-model project within the Greafer Bangalore Authority to collect and dispose of 1,750 metric tons of construction and demolition debris daily.
