Lack of rooms force authorities to conduct classes in temples

Yet, in many rural areas the basic requirement for running a school – a classroom – itself is missing.

An example to this harsh reality is the government school at Virupakshi village here.
There were 208 students studying from class one to seven at the Government Higher Primary School here and the school was already faced with a paucity of classrooms, and classes were being held under the shade of trees.

As if this was not enough, the  Education Department decided to start high school too from the last year. Now strength of students in the school has increased by another 103 students, studying in class eight to ten.

The lack of foresight by the Education Department while deciding to start a high school, has not only forced the school authorities to conduct classes inside the Virupakshewara temple, but has also cheated the students of the experience of studying inside classrooms.
