In view of the proposed motion, the CMC president had asked the Municipal Commissioner on April 3 to call a special meeting to put the motion into vote has been scheduled on April 17.

Anasuyamma Nagaraj, a councillor representing 29th ward had approached the High Court alleging violation of Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 in calling the meeting. She had sought a stay on the meeting.

The High Court, while directing to withhold the resolution that would be adopted at the proposed meeting, has posted the matter to May 27 for further hearing.
