The High Court has adjourned the hearing with regard to the petition filed by Union Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda’s son D S Karthik, challenging the charge sheet filed in and the summons issued by a lower court.

Karthik has been booked for kidnap, rape and cheating of actor Maitreya Gowda. Justice Rathnakala adjourned the hearing after the counsel representing Maitreya sought more time.

Karthik, in the petition, has said that the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court has issued summons asking him to personally appear before the court on December 18 for the hearing. Karthik said that the actor filed a case of kidnap, rape and cheating. However, the charge sheet is filed only with regard to cheating under Section 417 of the Indian Penal Code. He has sought for quashing of the charge sheet and the summons issued to him by the lower court.
