'High command will decide about who will remain CM for full term': Siddaramaiah

Mysuru: As he is about to set the record of being the longest serving Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah on Tuesday, January 6, expressed satisfaction over his work so far. The CM also added that the Congress High Command will decide on who will serve as CM of the state for the whole term of five years.

"I am not aware when and what they will decide. We will have to see. However I have confidence in them," Siddaramaiah said. He was speaking to media persons near his residence in Mysuru on Tuesday. 

When asked about breaking the record of previous CM Devaraj Urs, he said, "I did not do politics to break any record, it happened coincidentally. I did not know how many years and months Devraj Urs served. With the blessings of people, I have got the opportunity to break his record on Wednesday. Both of us are from Mysuru, but the timeline is different. He was CM between 1972 and 1980 I did not know if I would reach this far. Ut the most I just wanted to be an MLA once. After I became MLA I got opportunities I became minister, DCM, leader of the opposition and became CM also twice."

When asked about his way ahead, "Doing people's work gives happiness. Poitics is about getting justice for poor, dalits and backward class communities and doing their work. Inequality still prevails in the society. We will keep on fighting until they get justice and get equality and keep on working for them, he said. When asked about his meeting with AICC leader K C Venugopal at Mysuru Airport on Monday eveninghe said, "he had come Mysuru Airport on his way from Wayanad to Bengaluru Airport to Delhi. It was just a courtesy meet."

When asked if he would discuss about cabinet reshuffle with High Command, he said, "let's see, if the High Command calls to discuss about  it." 

About seperate probe on Bellary incident he said, "I will talk to Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar about it. Investigation is on. Some are arrested."About H D Kumarswamy questioning about autopsy of person who died in Bellary incident, being done twice, he said, "BJP and JD(S) leader don't speak as per law. They only talk politics," he said.
