Training camp for home guards inaugurated at Sugatur village

He was speaking after inaugurating a basic training camp for the Home Guards organised at Sabarmati Composite School in Sugatur in Kolar taluk on Saturday and said only when every one develops the qualities of a universal man will it be possible to realise the dream of Gandhiji of a Ram Rajya.

The Home Guards have come in for appreciation due to their work during times of crisis. He also called upon everyone to fight against terrorism.

On the occasion he also read out a oath for all the 250 trainees to destroy terrorism.
Former Commandant B Suresh said the Home Guards who are involved in selfless service were always ready to serve the society and the department should utilise their services properly. The Home Guards observed a minute’s silence and prayed for the departed souls of two of their colleagues who had lost their lives due to  bomb attack when they were on election duty and another who died due to a bear attack during the Assembly elections.

Kolar Advocates’ Association President Lakshminarayan was the chief guest. Home Guard M Praveena rendered the invocation.

Deputy commandant of Home Guards E Narayanappa welcomed, Commandment B Mariswamy delivered the inaugural address. Officer N R Purushottam compered. Unit officer A Shashi proposed a vote of thanks.
