Karnataka Health department releases Covid norms for bypolls

The Health department has released guidelines to be followed during the byelections to Belgaum, Maski and Basavakalyana constituencies.

An health officer will be appointed as a nodal officer for guiding the election personnel. According to the guideline, proper wearing of mask is mandatory during the election process. Thermal screening of voters should be carried out at polling booths. Sanitisers, liquid soap and drinking water should be made available.

Spacious rooms should be selected for conducting election-related activities to ensure social distancing. A kit containing mask, saniisers, hand gloves and face shield should be provided to the officials on election duty, the guidelines said.
