Karnataka second PU Results | Visually-challenged student scores 91%, says 'with efforts we can achieve anything'

Daughter of K P Ravi, a farmer and Vishalakshi, a tailor, Bindu from Kogilur of Saligrama taluk has secured 581 marks (96.83%) and stood third in the district.

Mysuru: Beating all odds, B Anitha, a visually challenged student from Mysuru city has scored 91 per cent marks in Second PUC Arts stream.

Daughter of Basavanna, a mason, Mahadevi, a house maid, Anitha has made her parents proud by scoring 547 marks (91.16 per cent) including 98 in Kannada, 76 in English, 96 in History, 93 in Economics, 95 in Sociology and 89 in Political Science.

She studied in Rangarao memorial school for differently abled from class 2 to class 10. But she studied in Mathru Mandali college (regular college) with normal students using braille text books. Anitha plans to take up civil service exams.

"We are equally capable. With efforts, it would not be difficult to achieve anything," Anitha shared.

Children of farmers, daily wage workers, three Govt College students score 96% & top at Dist level:

Three students from Government PU Colleges of Mysuru district including K R Bindu from Government PU College of Ravanduru in Periyapatna taluk; and two students including K M Nischitha, U P Sanjana from Government PU College for girls in Hunsur have scored 96% marks and topped in second PUC Arts stream in Mysuru district level.

Daughter of K P Ravi, a farmer and Vishalakshi, a tailor, Bindu from Kogilur of Saligrama taluk has secured 581 marks (96.83 per cent) and stood third in the district.

"We have about an acre agriculture land. We cultivate vegetables and Paddy. Bindu scored 601 marks in SSLC. She wants to study well. We will do our best to support her education," her father Ravi said.

Daughter of Shobha, a home maker and Manjegowda, a daily wage worker in Kampalapura of Periyapatna taluk (on Mysuru-Mangaluru National Highway), Nischitha has scored 580 marks (96.66 per cent) and stood fourth in the district.

Daughter of Anitha, a home maker and Puttegowda, a farm worker (taking care of a farm in Hannur on Hunsur-H D Kote road) Sanjana has scored 578 marks (96.33 per cent) and stood 5th in the district in Arts stream. She wants to take up civil service exams.

"Both Sanjana and Nishcitha have scored full marks in History and Kannada," shared, A Ramegowda, Principal of Government PU College for Girls Hunsur.
