<p>Mangaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Dr <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/g-parameshwara">G Parameshwara</a> said that a draft bill to curb fake news will be tabled during the upcoming Assembly session.</p><p>Speaking to mediapersons after a peace meeting on Wednesday, he said the draft bill will also include provisions to curb hate speech and regulate social media, among other issues.</p><p>Responding to a question on the illegal transportation of cattle, which has triggered communal tensions in the district, he said no one should take the law into their own hands. “If anyone has information on illegal activities, they should report it to the police,” he said.</p><p>On the issue of sand and laterite stone shortages in the district, the Home Minister said District In-charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has already convened a meeting to address the matter. “He will hold further discussions with the Minister for Mines and Geology and take appropriate action as per the law,” he added.</p>.Will you file fake news case on CM over jab remarks?: BJP's R Ashoka to Priyank Kharge.<p>When asked about certain seers expressing dissatisfaction over the state’s guarantee schemes, the minister said, “These guarantee schemes are the government’s flagship programmes. A budgetary allocation of Rs 52,000 crore has been earmarked for their implementation. The swamijis have merely expressed their views. The Chief Minister has already clarified the state’s financial position.”</p><p><strong>No differences of opinion</strong></p><p>He also clarified that there are no differences of opinion within the Congress party. “A few MLAs have voiced concerns over delays in implementing development works in their constituencies. However, they have not spoken against the government’s policies,” he said.</p>
