Karnataka women now have a better chance at masters' in UK as state signs MoU with Chevening Scholarship Prog

Belagavi: The Karnataka government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UK’s Chevening Scholarship Programme for women graduates to study master’s degree in the UK.

British Deputy High Commissioner, Karnataka and Kerala, Chandru Iyer said, “Karnataka is the first state in South India to take up the Chevening offer.”

In total, 15 women graduates will benefit from the programme in the next three years. The first batch of five women will be pursuing their UK education from September 2025. The 3-year programme is estimated to cost Rs 6 crore of which Rs 3 crore will be borne by the state government and the remaining by the Chevening.
