<p>Communal clashes erupted on Sunday in Karnataka's Maddur when stones were thrown at the Ganesha procession in Ram Rahim Nagar. According to police, the stone-pelting, which began about 500 metres from a mosque, led to retaliation from members of the procession. Police resorted to mild lathi charge to disperse two clashing groups.</p><p>The police have arrested 21 persons in connection with violence during the procession in front of a mosque on Sunday, CM Siddaramaiah said.</p>
