A candidate writing the general knowledge paper of the KAS (Main) exam was caught indulging in malpractice at a centre in the city on Tuesday.
The candidate in question, Rajkumar Goudappagol from Siraguppi in Jamkhandi taluk of Bagalkot district, was found using a banned electronic device. He was also found having a microchip and an earphone in his possession.
On finding his behaviour suspicious, the exam hall supervisor informed additional deputy commissioner and the deputy co-ordinator of exams. The officials, who rushed to the spot, have debarred Goudappagol. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
