KDA to honour bright Kannada medium students

Srikanth Suresh Hegde of Kumta, Uttara Kannada, has scored the highest 613 marks of 625 in SSLC, while S K Shruti of Harappanahalli, Davangere, has scored 564 marks of 600 in PUC. These students will be given Rs 15,000 cash award, besides a citation, a bag and a watch, KDA Chairman Mukyamantri Chandru told reporters on Monday.

Three students from every taluk have been selected for the award. The first prize will carry Rs 8,000, second prize Rs 7,000 and third prize Rs 6,000. The awards will be given away at a function organised at the divisional level, he added.
