Koppa agriculture loss estimated at Rs 15.6 lakh

Paddy seedlings in an area of 3.88 acres of 29 farmers in Bomlapura, in 1.94 acres of 15 farmers in Bolapura, in 1.04 acres of 12 farmers in Narasipura, in 0.94 acres of 11 farmers in Addada, in 1.18 acres of 10 farmers in Bhandigadi and in 1.02 acres of 17 farmers in Halmuttur have been destroyed in the rain and flood, according to the estimation.
It is said that about 5 acres of arecanut plantation has also been destroyed in the taluk.
Damages of Rs 7.27 crore took place on 34.9 km stretch road under the PW Department. Under the ZP Engineering division, 145.5 km road has been damaged.
Besides, 2 drinking water projects, 5 government buildings, 10 culverts have also been affected.
A total of 155 electric poles have fallen, while 2 transformers have been damaged. The Mescom has estimated the damages at Rs 37 lakh.
