Mahamasthakabhisheka at Dharmasthala in Feb 2019

The fourth Mahamasthakabhisheka of Lord Bahubali Swamy will be held at Dharmasthala in February 2019, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade said.

Speaking to reporters, he said as a part of Mahamasthakabhisheka, Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP), in association with the state government, wil take up the work on removing silt from 200 lakes in the state. The SKDRDP is in consultation with the government in this regard. Even the beneficiaries of the lake will also be involved in the process, he added.

To commemorate the first mahamasthakabhisheka in 1982, Heggade had started SKDRDP and Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI).

He said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had promised of laying a ring road to reduce the traffic on Dharmasthala Road during Mahamasthakabhisheka. PWD Minister H D Revanna has issued directions to the department officials in this regard, he said.

During a preparatory meeting, he said Mastakabhisheka will be held in the presence of Vardhamana Sagar Muni Maharaj and Pushpadanta Sagar Muni Maharaj. All the Jain mutt heads in Karnataka will be invited for the event. The Mahamasthakabhisheka will be held for three days after Panchakalyana.
