<p>Mangaluru: A 60-year-old man was killed after a wild elephant attacked him at Gundi near Southadka temple under Dharmasthala police station limits on Thursday.</p>.<p>The deceased was identified as Balakrishna Shetty (60), a resident of Muratthamel. An eyewitness told police that Shetty died on the spot after the jumbo attacked him at around 12 noon.</p>.<p>Forest officials, police personnel from Dharmasthala and Southadka gram panchayat officials visited the spot, police sources said.</p>.<p>KPCC general secretary Rakshith Shivaram met Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology Eshwar Khandre and submitted a memorandum urging government to disburse maximum compensation to the family of Shetty, who was working in a roadside canteen near Southadka temple.</p>
