<p>Mangaluru: An entrepreneur has lost Rs 2.7 lakh to a fraudster who had promised to supply granules to him made from recycled plastic.</p><p>The complainant, who owns a unit at Baikampady Industrial Area in Mangaluru, said that he received a message on July 24 from an unknown individual on WhatsApp. The individual claimed to be a plastic reprocessed granule manufacturer in Maharashtra and offered to supply granules to the complainants' company.</p><p>Due to the need for raw materials, the complainant obtained details from him. Subsequently, there was no further communication until November 22, when the individual, identifying himself as Nirmal Shah, claimed that his company was Zaveri Plastics. The individual sent a transport receipt and invoices, claiming the granules were dispatched via Balaji Transport and were to arrive on November 29.</p><p>Upon inquiry, the complainant found that all provided contact numbers, including those for transport and the driver, were switched off. Attempts to reach Nirmal Shah also failed. Further investigation revealed no connection between the individual and Zaveri Plastics. A case has been registered at Panambur police station.</p>
