MP launches works to lay water pipelines

Member of Parliament S P Muddahanumagowda on Sunday laid foundation stone of pipeline laying works, at Muganayakanakote in Nitturu hobli, for drawing Hemavathi river water from the main canal to the lakes and ponds in villages under Hagalwadi and Cheluru hoblis.

The works, to be taken up at a cost of Rs 27 crore, will be completed in three months time. After completion of the works, Hagalwadi, Hosakere, Alilughatta, Cheluru, Kodiyala tanks among others in the region will get Hemavathi river water.

The MP told the contractors entrusted with the pipeline laying works to maintain quality and try and complete the works within the time set for the same.

He warned of strict action, if the contractors execute substandard works.

MLA S R Srinivas, former MP G S Basavaraju, leaders G N Bettaswamy, Honnagirigowda, S R Dileep, Gururenukaardhya and others were present.
