My fight is against policies of BJP: Kumaraswamy

HDK promises support provided BJP mends its way

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Kumaraswamy said that he was not fighting against the BJP but his fight was against the anti-people policies of BJP and wide spread corruption prvailing in the administration.

“I will not stop my fight until the BJP leaders put an end to corruption and start ruling the State effectively,” he asserted adding that the fight is now between good and evil and only good will triumph at the end.

“The JD(S) is not a power-hungry party. There are some media reports portraying the JD(S) as an ambitious party striving to secure power in the State. Our aim is only to eradicate corruption,” Kumaraswamy said.

BJP leaders are encouraging defection thereby leading the State to another general election, he opined.

“A MLA from this district never skips an opportunity to speak about our family in derogatory tone. Let him remember the favours he received from me when I was the chief minister,” Kumaraswamy said indirectly hitting at MLA C T Ravi.

“They have the right to criticise me as a political personality but they do not have the right to attack me on the basis of my personal life. Let them introspect themselves before criticising others,” he added.

No coalition in ZP poll

Kumaraswamy said that the party will fight independently in the upcoming Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections. “We have not entered into  any dialogue with Congress leaders with regard to coalition so far. We are preparing to face the election on our own and I have no idea as to what  Congress has decided. Our party has the capacity to fight both Congress and BJP,” he said adding that the party had fared well in Gulbarga and Kadur bypolls.

HDK assures help

Journalists brought to the notice of Kumaraswamy the pathetic condition of Thimmamma and family in Belavadi village, in whose house he stayed during the ‘grama vasthavya’ programme during his tenure as the chief minister.

Responding to the issue, Kumaraswamy said that he would help the family, if they meet him. “I had promised many schemes to citizens during my short tenure as a chief minister. However, I could not fulfil many of them due to shortage of time,” he added.
