<p>This issue has been discussed with Union Minister of State fof Forests and Environment, Jairam Ramesh, before announcement of this decision.<br /><br />Allaying fears of eviction of tribals from their homeland, the MP clarified at a news conference here that there was no question of eviction of tribals from forests and this had been cleared at the time of submitting a proposal to declare BRT sanctuary as ‘tiger reserve. Even Jairam Ramesh too has promised that there would be no shifting of tribals.<br /><br />Explaining the importance of tiger reserve, Dhruvanarayan said the Centre would release crores of rupees as grants for promotion of flora and fauna in the region. Works like desilting of lakes and construction of artificial ponds would be taken up inside forests. There is a big scope for promotion of eco-tourism in the region besides providing basic amenities to tourists. <br /><br />LPG cylinders would be supplied to tribals as per the announcement. The tribals would be involved in protection of wild animals. <br /><br />A separate vigilance squad will be constituted for this purpose. Anybody who violates the forest act has to undergo seven years rigorous imprisonment. The CM has dropped a minister belonging to SC community. This shows that the State Government is anti-dalit.<br /><br /> There is no representation for ‘Adikarnataka’ community in the Cabinet. <br /><br />Welcoming the nomination of Animal Husbandry Minister P M Narendraswamy as district in-charge minister of Chamarajanagar, he charged that earlier district in -charge minister Halappa never worked for welfare of people and development of district. “The new district in-charge minister should not continue the legacy of his predecessor”.<br /><br />Narendraswamy should convene a meeting of important officials soon to find out solutions for problems of district and tour the entire district to understand the problems of people.<br /><br /></p>
