<p>Bengaluru: Home Minister G Parameshwara clarified in the Assembly that police officers using 'police' stickers on personal vehicles constitutes a violation and action will be taken if such instances come to light.</p><p>The clarification came after Shravanabelagola MLA CN Balakrishna raised a question regarding this issue in the Assembly.</p>.UAPA case accused held in Kerala for sporting fake police sticker on car.<p>Parameshwara further clarified that the government is cognizant of such violations and legal action will be taken according to a government circular issued in 2022.</p><p>Speaking to DH, a senior police officer said that certain officers who are waiting to be posted and have not officially been assigned a police vehicle are allowed to use "temporary police signages" on their personal vehicles while on bandobast duty. </p><p>"I have not come across any instance where the police have used 'police' stickers for any mischief," he added. </p><p>"You may see sticker violations on two-wheelers in rural areas, but within the city limits it is almost zero, especially after the 2022 circular," he added. </p><p>Another senior officer, told DH, that they have come across such violations but it is not very high in number. "Some police personnel in their initial phase want to show-off and might stick the 'police' label on their personal vehicles. There have been instances where police personnel have been caught doing this to escape some small traffic violations. However, we discourage this practice in the department," he said.</p><p>"Among retired officers it is not seen. Officers don't really want to retain that label after retirement," he added.</p>
