One-way route imposed on select roads

One-way traffic for the period is imposed during the period on select seven roads in the radius of Amba Vilas Palace.

Briefing about traffic norms, police commissioner Sunil Agarwal said vehicles are allowed to ply on Tyagaraja road from N Madhava Rao Circle to Chamaraja Double road junction while the movement of vehicles is banned in the opposite direction. Similarly the vehicles are allowed on D Banumaian road- from Chamaraja double road to Banumaiah chowka (banned from north to south), Lokranjan road- from Lingaiah Circle to Karanji tank road junction (banned from west to east), Irwin road- from Ayurvedic Hospital circle to Nehru circle (banned from east to west), Sayyaji rao road- from K R Circle to Ayurvedic Hospital circle (banned from north to south), Albert victor road- from Hardinge circle to K R circle (banned from west to east), Bangalore- Nilgiri road- from wrestling ground junction to Hardinge circle (banned from north to south) and New sayyaji rao road- from K R Circle to MCC circle (banned from south to north).

However, there will be no changes in the movement of KSRTC buses up to October 5. To facilitate hassle free- Jamboo Savari, the city bus stand will remain close on October 6 from 6 am to 5 pm. According to KSRTC authorities, as the tail end of the procession will be reaching Bannimantap the culmination point by 4 pm on the day, the operation of buses from 5 pm onwards helps fast exiting of the crowd. Similar is the opinion of the police too as early exiting of the crowd addresses the traffic related woes to an extent.

That apart the buses on outstation routes will be stationed at different junctions to facilitate the passengers. The buses coming from Nanjangud road side will be allowed up to Gundurao Nagar on October 6, followed by Scouts and Guide Grounds for buses coming from Hunsur side and Manandavadi road side and R S Naidu Nagar for Bangalore side buses.

Medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas released the brochure consisting of information pertaining to parking and traffic arrangements at different venues during the period. Police commissioner said a total of one lakh brochures have been printed and will be issued in public interest.

Unlike previous years, major changes have been made at Torchlight Parade grounds in Bannimantap. Four gates will be opened on the road- gate number 3, 4, 5 and 6. Among them four and five is exclusively for pedestrians and six for vehicles. One-way traffic will be effected on the stretch from Millenium Circle (LIC divisional office) side.
