Production in the first unit of the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) at Shaktinagar in Raichur dist has been temporarily halted on Friday due to fall in the demand for power supply.
Since it is raining at several places in the state, the hydroelectricity units have begun generating power. Hence, the first unit of the RTPS which has a capacity to generate 210 MW of power has been halted for the time being.
Presently, total five units which have a capacity to generate 1,720 MW of power, are generating total 875 MW of power, informed the officials of RTPS.
