Last Updated 01 March 2010, 17:32 IST

Addressing a press meet, SKSSF Spokesperson Nezir Ullal said that since Musliyar had died in a suspicious circumstance, the case should be investigated by the CBI.

“We are not satisfied with the inquiry which is being conducted by the Kerala police. We strongly suspect that Qazi has been murdered by some unidentified miscreants. Hence, the case should be inquired in this direction by the CBI.”

The 77-year-old Moulavi, who was suffering from old-age ailments, was unable to walk freely. But his dead body was found on the seashore about one kilometre away from his house, he said.

It is said that Qazi was interested in astronomy and must have gone outside to view the sky. However, will the Qazi go and watch sky without taking spectacles, pen and book? he asked.

He said: “When the body was found on water, police have conducted inquiry without pressing in finger print experts and dog squad.

After one week of the death of Qazi, the police have started investigation into the death by collecting details from the family members and neighbours. Though in the beginning, it was said that as per the post mortem report, a large quantity of water was found in the lungs and stomach of the late Qazi. However, after ten days, crime department officials said that there was injury mark on Qazi’s body. There is a need to bring out the truth”.
