Rangayana, Ranga Mandir work to be launched

District In-charge Minister Jayamala will lay foundation stone for the construction of theatre institute Rangayana and Ranga Mandira in Adi Udupi on November 30.

The Rangayana and Ranga Mandira, to be constructed at a cost of Rs seven crore, will come up on one acre and 37 guntas of land.

The district Ranga Mandira will come up on 87 guntas of land while Rangayana will come up on 50 guntas of land.

Ranga Mandira will have a seating capacity for 700 persons and it will have two sophisticated green rooms, improvised sound system and parking facilities for the visitors.

Rangayana is already functioning in other parts of the state like Shivamogga, Mysuru and Kalaburagi.

Rangayana, established by Government of Karnataka in 1989, is the brainchild of Late theater artist B V Karanth.

Rangayana has imbibed his imagination, vision, brilliance, dream along with the hard work of the artists, technicians and staff.

This institution has already expanded its scope and horizon over the years.
