Relief delayed, vehicles burnt, officials beaten

Aggrieved by the delay in providing food and other relief materials, flood victims burnt the vehicles of the MLA , tahsildar, engineer and damaged six other government vehicles at Talamari of Raichur taluk on Sunday afternoon.

Raichur rural MLA Raja Rayappa Nayak and tahsildar went to Talamari, only to face the ire of the irate flood victims as district administration was visiting them after three days of the havoc.

Police  rescued MLA Rayappa Nayak and the tahsildar, but the revenue inspector was assaulted. BJP rural area chairman B Thimmareddy, AEE Shankar and ZP president Nagamma’s vehicles were burnt.

Even the police tried to protect themselves as they were unable to control the victims.
