Residents of III stage Karmika Nagar who were staging a protest demanding railway underpass since five days, withdrew their agitation following an assurance by Member of Legislative Assembly V Muniyappa, on Monday.

Muniyappa met the protesters and promised to look into their demand, at the earliest.
He further said that the work on railway line is almost over and tracks are being laid.

“If the residents had complained earlier, it would have been easier to lay the road. Yet, I will refer the issue to the minister of state for railways,” he added.

With the construction of railway station and laying of railway tracks, the residents of III stage Karmika Nagar have lost access to the town.

There are no connecting roads to the Karmika Nagar, the residents complained..
The residents were protesting demanding road connectivity.

The protesters complained  that since the work on railway line has begun, a by-pass road to Idludu is being laid. This has closed the connecting road from Karmika Nagar to the town.

Demand roads
They wanted the authorities concerned to provide a road to the area, immediately.
Praja Kranthi party taluk president Dairy Sattar Saab and others participated in the protest.
