Rajanna of Kattemane is on an organic mission for the past 18 years who sprays copper sulphate each year regularly. He gets about 10 quintals of areca yield from his 2.5 acre plantation. However, due to the rot disease, a large quantity of tender arecanuts have fallen on the ground. He had applied bordo mix in the last week of June this year.

The disease symptoms have been surfaced in the plantations of Manjunath Gowda and Nagendra of Hostota. The disease has also been found in Siddaramatha, Kesave and those areas that have already been suffered from the yellow leaf disease. Raitha Sangha leader D B Rajendra has urged the government for proper compensation to the farmers.
