Rs 50 lakh seized in Hosadurga

The election personnel seized Rs 50 lakh, which was being transported without proper documents in a car, at Hosadurga in the district.

The transport of the money came to light when the election staffers were inspecting the vehicles passing through Ahmed Nagar checkpost in Hosadurga taluk. The money was found in the car belonging to retired deputy registrar Krishnamurthy.

The police said Krishnamurthy has given a statement that he got the money after the sale of land. However, the money was seized as he could not provide proper documents, they said.
