SDPI president electrocuted

A 40-year-old SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) leader was electrocuted while attempting to tie a 10 foot flex at Darbe junction in Puttur, on Wednesday night.

Puttur SDPI president Hamza, a resident of Kodaje village in Bantwal taluk, along with two other youth, was tying a 10 foot flex as part of the preparations for a SDPI rally in Puttur on Friday.

At around 11.30 pm, due to gutsy winds, the banner came in contact with a transformer. Hamza, who was holding the metallic end of the flex was electrocuted. An unnatural death case under 174 code of CrPC, was registered by Puttur police.
