Setty, who is the chairman of the Karnataka Muzrai Board, told reporters in Bangalore on Saturday that six -foot eco-friendly Ganesha idols will be provided to organisations if they register before August 26. Bangalore apart, Setty is planning to give away 1,000 Ganesha idols in his constituency Malur in Kolar and surrounding villages.
Setty said the Ganesha idols have already been prepared. “We will distribute them after conducting a mass pooja at National College Grounds or Palace Grounds from August 26 evening,” he said. Vinayaka Chathurthi falls on September 1.

Setty said he was planning to extend his scheme of providing free bicycles to archakas, presently confined to Kolar district, to across the State in a phased manner.
