KR Pet MLA K C Narayanagowda has abstained from the legislature session, citing health issues. However, his associates said he is unhappy with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for not allotting sufficient funds for his constituency. There are also rumours that he may be in touch with the BJP.

The MLA’s associates said Narayanagowda had sought Rs 40 crore for various development works in his constituency.

“But, the chief minister did not consider his proposal, while he sanctioned hundreds of crores of rupees for the neighbouring Melkote constituency. Melkote is represented in the Assembly by C S Puttaraju. Narayanagowda feels that he is being neglected,” they said.

JD(S) leaders suspect that Narayanagowda has knocked on the doors of the BJP. Even though it is said that Narayanagowda has taken permission from the chief minister and the Speaker for his absence, he is neither in KR Pet nor in Bengaluru. Grapevine has it that Narayanagowda has taken shelter in Mumbai. He is originally a businessman from Mumbai.
