Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Dr S Sachidananda on Friday said the graduates should have gratitude towards their parents in recognition of their sacrifices to make them graduates.

“Graduates should also remember their teachers for their efforts, be grateful to the visionaries and peers who had helped them in their difficult times,” the VC stressed while delivering the first convocation address at Srinivas University.

He said private universities have a great role in building the nation. Universities should pay the role of creating good citizens, education develops knowledge and skills. Knowledge helps individual to develop their career. He called upon students to be innovative.

Pejawar seer Vishwesha Theertha Swami was conferred an honorary doctorate on the occasion. The seer said that the development of a country is nothing but the development of society. He also said there should be efforts to create a corruption free society.

Srinivas University Chancellor A Raghavendra Rao while presiding over the programme stressed the need of educating students in tune to the requirements of the industry.

He said there is a requirement of the overall development of students and students need to focus on developing their communication in order to emerge as successful.

As many as 1400 graduates of Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Colleges, were awarded graduation certificates on the occasion. Srinivas University Pro-Chancellor A Srinivas Rao among others was also present.
