Three killed as buses collide

Three persons were killed while more than 20 people were injured in a mishap between a KSRTC bus and a private bus on NH 75, during the wee hours of Tuesday.

The KSRTC bus, bound for Bengaluru on the Udupi-Mangaluru route, hit a private bus bound for Mangaluru from Hassan. The deceased have been identified as Yashoda (42), of Adi Udupi village, Karthik Reddy (30) of Maggera Palya in Bengaluru, both passengers of the private bus and Fathima Sunira (27), of Palanam village, Kasargod district, who was in the KSRTC bus.

The injured have been admitted to the government and private hospitals in Alur, Sakleshpur, and Hassan.
