Shandy Market Vendors Committee has urged the concerned authorities to complete the pending works on the new shandy market building in Mahadevpet at the earliest.
Addressing reporters in Madikeri on Wednesday, committee president M M Ismail said that the work is incomplete even though the vendors have moved to the new shandy market building.
Works on basic amenities such as drinking water connections and electrification have not been completed. The city municipal council should complete the works within the next 15 days, he said.
Ismail further stated that there is a need to provide good marketing space for the vendors in the new market. Those who have been carrying out business in the city for a long time should be given priority, he added.
Committee secretary Razak, vice president Chandrashekhar and member Muhammed Ali Ramesh were present.
