<p>Mangaluru: Yasin Bhatkal alias Sharukh alias Dr Arajoo, a key accused in 2008 Ullal terror case, was produced before the court via video conference from Tihar Central Jail in New Delhi on Thursday.</p><p>Members of the banned Indian Mujahideen (IM) organisation had set up sleeper cells in Mukkacheri and Chembugudde, under the Ullal police station limits in order to prepare explosives and carry out terror attacks across different locations in the country, as according to the chargesheet filed in the court.</p><p>Then district DCIB officials had busted the sleeper cells and arrested seven members of IM on October 4, 2008. Six other accused persons however went absconding. A case was registered at Ullal police station (Crime No. 242/2008). Yasin serving a sentence in Tihar Jail for his involvement in Hyderabad bomb blast case.</p><p>Police coordinated with prison authorities in New Delhi and took the necessary permissions to produce Yasin Bhatkal before the JMFC Court, Mangaluru, through video conferencing on Thursday. The court posted the next hearing to August 20, 2025.</p>
