<p>Condemning the negligent attitude of the CMC towards guest teachers, Dalit Sangharsha Samithi carried out a ‘Guru Dakshinegagi Nadige,’ a unique procession on Monday. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The procession commenced at Gaddige and passed through various streets in Madikeri and raised funds for Gurudakshine. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Addressing the protest, district convener H L Divakar said that the amount raised will be handed over to the guest teachers who have not been paid honorarium through the school heads. </p>.<p class="bodytext">A V School, Hindustani School and a school on Mysuru Road are CMC schools in Madikeri.</p>.<p class="bodytext">A majority of the poor students pursue their education in these schools. Unfortunately, the guest teachers who have been teaching the children are not getting the honorarium, said Divakar.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Divakar rued that the CMC has failed to earmark funds to be given as an honorarium for guest teachers.</p>
