Medical Education and district in-charge Minister S A Ramdas said on Friday that it would be possible to supply drinking water from KRS to Bangalore, Mysore and other places only till May-end.

Addressing reporters on Friday, the minister said that the water level at KRS on Friday stood at 74.41 feet, amounting to 8.5 tmc ft. Of the available water, 4.4 tmc ft is considered dead storage and the remaining 4.1 tmc ft of water can be supplied till May-end. Bangalore can be supplied 600 cusecs of water daily, followed by Mysore - 134 cusecs, and 65 cusecs for other places.

Seasonal rainfall is expected in the first week of June, bringing more inflow to KRS. In case of a failed monsoon, it has been decided to supply water from dead storage, the minister said.
